Rockwood Aviation is hiring a student intern to work at the Rockwood Municipal Airport located near Rockwood, TN. The intern will be under the direct supervision of Rockwood Aviation, LLC, the managing contractor for the airport. The intern will be engaged in the full spectrum of activities associated with operation of a general aviation airport such as; fuel delivery and quality assurance, aircraft maintenance operations, emergency preparedness and response, ground handling procedures and equipment, FAA required procedures, airside and landside operations and maintenance, and customer service. In addition, the airport is undergoing significant construction activity involving new hangars and the intern will be able to gain experience in multiple disciplines of civil engineering and airport facility construction.
The intern will work with the airport manager, and assigned duties may include:
· Conduct site inspections on the identified construction projects
· Participate in aviation fuel supply activities such as fuel sampling and testing and facility inspections
· Support airport line crew in directing, moving, and storing aircraft.
· Review and enhance airport procedures.
· Support light duty maintenance activities associated with landside and airside operations.
· Support activities to ensure airfield compliance with FAA procedures
· Pursuing a career in the aviation sector such as aviation management, aviation maintenance, professional pilot, or dispatch.
· 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the U.S.
· Some aviation experience is preferred.

Rockwood Municipal Airport is a General Aviation airport with a 5,000' runway located at the western edge of the Oak Ridge Corridor. The airport serves business class turbine aircraft as well as recreational aircraft. LifeStar Aeromedical services are based at the field, as well as a flight training school and an avionics maintenance company. RKW also serves as the airport partner for Flatrock Motorsports Club.
